- Raas Choreography
- Contemporary Garba
Priya Nair trained in Bharatanatyam for twelve years before she ever choreographed a single Garba step. That classical grounding is exactly why her raas sequences feel different — precise, musical, and readable from the back of a crowd.
Teaching the floor to think
Nair's workshops are famous for a deceptively simple premise: most people don't need more steps, they need better timing. "Garba is a conversation," she says. "You are answering the dhol, not performing at it."
A diaspora bridge
Over the last five years, Nair has taught intensives in London, Toronto, and New Jersey, building a curriculum that respects tradition while meeting diaspora dancers where they are.
